The Frightening Future Awaits

The future. That bright, dismal, joyous, despondent, anticipated, dreaded, planned, unprepared for, arrival, departure, ascent, descent, source of optimism, pessimism, grand, disastrous and altogether fictitious state of Existence which never arrives...at least not as envisioned.

We live as if our days ahead somehow express the Universe’s cooperation with our (generally futile) attempts to direct the trajectory of our lives in a precise manner. We live, gather, plan and schedule as if the future is a concrete reality. At best, another moment of our experience will be a representation of our hopes or fears (typically resulting from whether we hope or we fear as a primary interpretative emotion). Our concept of “the future" is our attempt to structure nonexistent occurrences, to organize events yet to come in accordance with what we percieve as beneficial.. or with what we fear to be inevitable.
These happenings, as of yet unhappened, may never happen and will certainly not happen as expected. Yet, without fail, someone will express with frustration and/or disappointed amazement , that nothing ever ever goes "right" or "as planned".
Why?
Because we are not the deciding elements in the process of Existence; we are not capable (as of yet)of determining a schedule for our particular area of activity in the Great Happening .
The Great Happening is all that is , was, and will be. It is occuring regardless of what we do, regardless of our alliances, regardless of our manipulation and exploitations,...the Great Happening has been happening, is happening, and will…
